    Condemnation and condolences for the victims of the shooting attack that killed eight students at the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva in Jerusalem have been swift.

    This is in marked contrast to the international silence that surrounded Israel’s recent massacres of Palestinian civilians in the Occupied Gaza Strip. Ali Abunimah comments.

    Redeye: Critic of Israeli policies denied tenure

    Norman Finkelstein has consistently criticized Israeli policies in Palestine and the use of the Holocaust for justify support for Israel. In early June, DePaul University denied him tenure, despite a positive recommendation by the faculty committee.

    Gaza under siege

    The nearly two-month long Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip continues to exact a heavy toll on the 1.4 million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip. Two hundred and two Palestinians have been killed since ‘Operation Summer Rains’ began. One Israeli soldier has been killed in the same period. In addition, thousands of Palestinians have been forced to flee their homes due to repeated ground incursions and intensive shelling by the Israeli army. Mordecai Briemberg speaks to Ali Abunimah of Electronic Intifada.
