A Conversation With Anna Baltzer on The Israeli Incursion into Nablus
This week on Crossing The Line; the long winter in Palestine heats up as Israeli occupation forces stormed into Nablus injuring and killing civilians, targeting resistance fighters, and using residents as human shields. I’ll speak to Anna Baltzer an activist with IWPS who witnessed and investigated the event, that’s coming up. Israel announced an end to operation “Hot Winter” in Nablus. Egypt is displeased that Hamas signed unity government in Saudi Arabia rather than in Egypt. Social development groups in Palestine met with European counterparts. Israeli construction near the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Kalandia checkpoint raise concerns amongst Palestinians. The Israeli “Hot Winter” offensive continued in Nablus. The military surrounded, entered and ransacked homes throughout Nablus. At least 4 Palestinians were abducted. In the Al Far’a refugee camp south of Tubas, Israeli military units entered, fired tear gas into residents homes, and abducted several people. In Jenin, undercover Israeli troops attempted to abduct a leader of the Al-Quds Brigades. He and two other Palestinians were killed in clashes there. In Gaza, Palestinian resistance groups launched rocket attacks on Israeli military installations in Ashkilon and the nearby settlement of Birri, located in the Negev desert.
