In Gaza, a 13-year-old boy was sent to the hospital after being hit in the head with shrapnel from Israeli gunfire. Palestinian gunmen occupied a municipal building near Khan Younis, demanding jobs for relatives. The Israeli Defense Minister, Amir Peretz, authorized “limited operations in the Gaza Strip” and undercover Israeli forces were seen operating at the Beit Lahia beach. In the West Bank, the Israeli military invaded Balata Refugee Camp near Nablus, injuring six civilians and one resistance fighter. Palestinian journalists maintained their protest over the abduction of BBC reporter Alan Johnston. Journalists boycotted the meeting btween President Abbas and U.S. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.
