    Dr. Bill Dienst is a family and emergency physician from Washington State who volunteered for a month this past Fall, 2006 with emergency medical personnel of the Palestine Medical Relief Society Mobile Health Clinics in villages all over the Northern West Bank and Gaza Strip. Dr. Dienst visited Beit Hanoun in Gaza three times in the aftermath of this past November’s deadly siege by the Israeli military. It was his fourth visit to the region.

    Dr. Dienst has published 17 photojournals of his 2006 experience in the Northern West Bank and Gaza, including “Leaving Las Vegas, or getting out of Gaza,” “Gaza’s Father Manuel,” “Fear is a Powerful Stimulant,” “Rafah Revisited,” “Each Friday in Bil’in,” etc. They are available at “Diaries: Live from Palestine” on the Electronic Intifada web site.
